Union Public Service Commission every year recruits the following engineering services:

1.3 UPSC - Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS)

The IFS officers are obliged to implement the National Forest Policy which aims for environmental protection.


Age Criteria: 21 - 30 (Subject to some relaxation according to caste--- OBC - 3 Years Relaxation, SC/ST - 5 Years Relaxation)
Educational Qualifications: Any one of the following subjects in Bachelor degree
  • Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
  • Botany
  • Chemistry
  • Geology
  • Mathematics

  • Statistics
  • Zoology
  • Bachelor Degree In Agriculture
  • Bachelor Degree In Forestry
  • Or any equivalent

1.4 UPSC - Indian Economic Service (IES) & Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examinations

These Examinations are conducted to recruit in different Ministries and Various Boards and Commissions where Experts in Economics and Statistics are needed.

Economic Services have 15 services and statistics have 13 services.

Age Criteria: 21 - 30 (Subject to some relaxation according to caste--- OBC - 3 Years Relaxation, SC/ST - 5 Years Relaxation)
Educational Qualifications: 
For Indian Economic Service
Candidate must have a Post-Graduate Degree In
  • Economics (or)
  • Applied Economics (or)
  • Business Economics (or)
  • Econometrics
For Indian Statistical Service
Candidate must have a Bachelor's (OR) a Master's Degree In
  • Statistics (or)
  • Mathematical Statistics (or)
  • Applied Statistics

1.5 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner

Their duty is to look after the work of Administration, Accounts, Cash, Pension, Enforcement, Recovery, Computer and legal which includes both Administration and Statutory functions.

Age Criteria: 21 - 35 

Educational Qualifications: Graduation Degree
Attempts:   Varies according to caste
                   General: 6 Attempts
                   OBC:      9 Attempts
                   SC/ST:    No Limit

1.11 Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination (SCRA)

This recruitment is for +2 candidates into the Indian Railway Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering for a Degree course in Mechanical Engineering. 

Age Criteria: 17 - 21

Educational Qualifications: Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

Attempts:   No limit

Selection Process: Written Examination & Personal Interview

2. What Is The Selection Process Of UPSC Jobs?

Actually selection process is different for different types of posts. But a natural process for recruiting for any govt job is one through the following ways

                 Prelims Exam  Mains Exam   ➤   Interview  

According to the authority of the job, there may be two or more written examinations could be conducted. Like Preliminary and Mains
